of your confidence how helpful he can really be, the

couple of drinks would alleviate my gastric distress, at least for a few hours at a time, so it was not at all difficult for me to return
to my former excessive indulgence.

This sometimes nearly drove me back to drink, but I soon found that when all other measures failed, work with another alcoholic would save the day.

that he'd soon get drunk -- for at the time, you see, A.A. was on the pious side.

Soon, groups began to receive requests for A.A. speakers to appear before civic organizations, church groups, and medical societies.

pick up a fragment of A.A. history, and soon have the solid facts.

carpet and the upshot was
that I had to go back for two more quarters and remain absolutely dry, if I wished to graduate.

But those of us who have tried
to shoulder the entire burden and trouble of others find we are soon overcome by them.

told, and soon realizes for himself, that
his humble admission of
powerlessness over alcohol is his first step toward liberation from its paralyzing grip.

He shouts that if his partner would treat him better, and his wife would leave him alone, he'd soon solve his alcohol problem.

outcome in God's hands or he would soon start drinking again, and all would be lost anyhow.
